LaunchBox
13.9LaunchBox: A great software for creating your own video game library
There are so many games right now that it's impossible to keep them all under a single software. Old games or new games, you have to install Steam, GOG, emulators or other platforms for your games. What if you can create your own video game library with just one software?Enter LaunchBox, a powerful application aimed to centralize all your games, new or old under one single interface. The software was originally designed as a front-end for DOSBox but got expanded to allow ROMs, Steam games, DOS, GOG and many more.
The software comes with a pretty simple and straight-forward interface as well as a wizard for helping you add your game sources fast and easy. Evidently, you can skip the wizard and add everything manually with the option of launching the wizard any time you want. However, you have to keep in mind that manual additions are a bit of a chore since it involves filling various fields for each game.
As specified earlier, LaunchBox supports a wide variety of emulators as well as DOS games and modern libraries. From its interface, you can manage all your preferred emulators or platforms with ease. However, LaunchBox's strongest feature is it's library manager from which you can "collect" your games, edit any information about any given game, with the possibility of fetching various details (such as box covers, author info, etc) from sites such as Wikipedia, Steam, etc.
If you're an avid gamer which has a ton of games, both new and old, LaunchBox is one of the best video game library managers on the market right now, we definitely recommend it.
