bcWebCam is a handy application that lets you easily scan barcodes using a webcam. To read barcodes quickly and without errors without a specific hardware device, you need a specialized software solution like bcWebCam.

The program has a straightforward installation procedure and a plain, but functional interface. At first launch you can go through a short tutorial that shows you how to use the app. The UI offers a large area to show the video stream, so all barcodes will fit nicely on the screen and be easy to read.

You can scan codes from images, open files and web pages, although you will need to tweak the camera focus to ensure there’s no blurriness which may prevent the symbols from being interpreted properly.
