jGnash: A free and easy to use personal finance manager

jGnash is a friendly tool that lets you efficiently manage your finances, with the possibility to set reminders and create history-based budgets as well as generate reports.

The tool is portable so you don’t need to install it, but it does require Java already running on your PC in order to work.

jGnash supports multiple accounts, and for each you can add numerous details such as their name, ID, description, type (for example investment, expense, mutual fund and so on), currency and optionally notes.

To continue, the program lets you add incomes, transfers, charges, withdrawals, adjustments and to see the total balance. Also, you can configure reminders to notify you when you need to pay important bills, as well as create customized monthly budgets based on your expenditure history.

What’s more, jGnash can generate various types of reports, such as net worth, loss and profit, monthly balances, end-of-month balance and so on. The program lets you save your data in the location of your choice as a binary or XML file or H2 and HyperSQL relational databases, plus you can print transactions as checks.
