BiblioteQ: Manage collections of books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, journals and more with this straightforward application

More often than not, we tend to amass large numbers of our favorite magazines, books, DVDs, video games and other such items. Sadly, if we are ever to find a specific object, collections also need to be thoroughly managed and sorted. BibilioteQ is a free, open-source tool that can help with all that.

The application supports both SQLite and PostgreSQL connections, and the information regarding books, journals, magazines...etc. is retrieved via the SRU and Z39.50 protocols by quering a variety of online resources, like and Library of Congress.

The interface is functional and clean, and from there you can connect/disconnect to/from a database, setup administrative privileges and change the password. All items contained by the database are shown in the main window as a table. BiblioteQ can also display all items, all available items, reserved or overdue items as well as by type: journals, magazines, books, DVDs, music CDs, photo collections or video games.

Furthermore, you can see detailed information about each item stored in a certain category and in the case of large database items, you can browse through the items of the selected category, by jumping to the next or previous page.
