Swiss File Knife is a functional tool that can help you automate a large variety of computer tasks like running an HTTP server and editing documents via command lines.

Once you launch the app, type in ‘sfk’ followed by the task you want it to perform. Since Swiss File Knife is portable, you can run the executable file directly, from your local hard drive or from an external USB storage device.

While the tool has straightforward options, it doesn’t have a GUI so in order to properly use it, some experience with scripting and command line is needed.

Advanced tasks can be performed thanks to the app’s support for scripting, thus you can have it perform tasks like finding data in binary files, running commands on a folder’s files in a loop and creating HD5 hashes.

While Swiss File Knife bundles numerous commands, among the most useful ones let you make the program count cutting videos and binary files, sync a folder tree, remove blank spaces in file names, find duplicate files and send UDP requests.
