BCArchive: A functional tool that lets you create password-protected archives and share them via email

Compressing files into an archive can make it easier to share them and reduce upload and download times, but it doesn’t keep the files secure. BCArchive is an application that lets you archive your files and password-encrypt them so no one without the proper credentials will be able to access them.

While the program is easy to use thanks to its streamlined layout, it also bundles thorough documentation that explains in detail how all of the included features work.

Archives can be protected using a password-based encryption method, or a public key method. The first method supports key algorithms like IDEA, Blowfish, SHA, RIPEMD, MD, CAST5, RIJNDAEL and GOST. The section option provides access to a public key generator.

After you load the files and folders you want to compress, they’ll be displayed on the app’s main screen along with information like size, type, name, attributes, modified time and ratio.
