Swordfish: A powerful application allowing professional translators to perform accurate text translations between multiple languages

While there’s no shortage of translation software available on the market, not many have been designed to handle large amounts of text such as Swordfish can. The program is aimed at professional translators, allowing them to translate text in a highly efficient manner using the built-in collection of advanced functions.

Since the application is Java based you will also need it installed on your machine, in order for Swordfish to work properly. In the feature-packed interface, you can work with popular file formats that are typically used by translators, such as TXML, TTX, TTX Exchange and RTF.

You can easily hide or show specific text segments by marking them with various labels, specifically ‘has translation’, ‘has comments’, ‘is translatable’ and, ‘is approved’.

XLIFF files can be exported to HTML and use all the benefits of a web browser for text reading. There’s also support for third-party database engines, although Swordfish bundles a swift database server you can use.

The interface of the app can be easily customized in various ways, such as changing its color scheme, fonts, segmentation and conversion rules as well as the language codes and keyboard shortcuts.
