1.52GeographicLib: Easy conversion of geographic calculations
Easy conversion of geographic calculationsGeographicLib is a tiny but extremely useful collection of C++ classes that were created to help developers to convert between geographic, UPS, UTM, geocentric, MGRS and local Cartesian coordinates which are used for geoid calculations and for computing geodesic.
The main goal of this unique C++ library is to retrieve accurate results with errors close to round-off, about 5-15 nanometers.
Next to these basic features, different properties of the Transverse Mercator Projection are described and the correct algorithm for Geodesics on the area of Ellipsoid is included.
The test data for the geodesic problem and the transverse Mercator projection and geoid heights in included as well.
Gridded geoid data can be found along with Earth gravity models and geomagnetic models.
The library works also from .NET applications by using the NETGeographicLib wrapper library and it is compatible for replacement of the core functionality.
The library is best to use by compering and checking results with an online geodesic bibliography which lists many papers for treating geodesics on an ellipsoid.
GeographicLib is distributed as freeware which means that it is free for use and development under MIT / X11 license.
