liquidFOLDERS: A functional file manager that works as a relational file system

There’s more than one way to organize your file and folders, and liquidFOLDERS is an interesting application that lets you do that using a relational file system. This method allows you to quickly access the documents you need most often, with no need to browse through your hard drive’s content to reach the items you’re interested in.

The program can be access from its desktop shortcut (if you opted for one during the installation), or from the ‘Store’ it creates which is shown next to the rest of your system’s drives in Explorer. You can change the name of the ‘Store’ to one that feels more appropriate for you.

You can use the ‘Import folder’ option from the right-click menu to add files – a quick way to load entire folders with just a few actions. ‘Stores’ come with a number of preset folders such as Album, Priority, Modified, Copyright, Name, Rating ….etc., that sort your files and documents into them.

‘Stores’ can be opened in the ‘Store Manager’, allowing you to choose how your files should be sorted and to set the display mode currently in use. Also, you can group your files by adding filters. This is done by typing in a search term and using a condition such as Contains, Ends With, Does Not Equal and Equals. The last one offers various options like Duration, URL, Priority, Signature and many others.
