SnakeTail: A user-friendly program that helps you monitor Windows event logs (e.g. hardware events, key management service, alerts, security) and save data to XML file format

SnakeTail is a practical piece of software that enables you monitor text log files for various types of events related to hardware, programs, security, and system among others.

The functional layout provides several viewing modes such as vertical or horizontal tiled windows, cascade windows and a multi-tabbed UI. The events you can monitor with the app are sorted into categories such as Application, Hardware Events, Internet Explorer, Key Management Service, Alerts, Security, System, and Windows PowerShell.

For each log, you can access details such as source, date and time, category, level, source, and event ID. You will also be able to use the built-in search, change the background color, copy the selected data to the clipboard, and format the text regarding its font, font style, size, and color.

SnakeTail provides other useful features such as saving the current session to an XML file for later uploading, importing data from LOG and TXT files, start/stop the current service, bind custom shortcut keys, customize external tools, create bookmarks, and highlight window tabs using icons when file changes occur.
