Shallot

Shallot is a nifty application that lets you manage your files and folders with ease, with the possibility of adding or removing file attributes. The software comes with a clean yet intuitive interface that can be customized to some extent. Shallot features three sections, a navigation panel, an exploration area and an information zone, for each selection.

The interface is familiar, being rather similar to other file explorers, which isn't a bad thing at all for the user. However, the user can customize its appearance and behavior by changing the toolbar locations, sizes etc. What's more interesting about this piece of software is its plugin manager, which can extend Shallot's functionality by a lot. If you're familiar with Python and able to write your own plugins, you'll find this software to be a perfect playground.

That being said, if you need a clean file manager with plugin support and powerful tools, you can consider giving Shallot a try. It's free, lightweight and does its job pretty nicely.
